$800,000 Settlement For Uninsured Motorist Accident

Plaintiff, a thirty-two (32) year  old male was working as an independent contractor with a ride-share company, transporting a customer in the rear seat. Plaintiff was stopped at a red traffic light when an uninsured vehicle disregarded the red traffic light and struck another vehicle.  As a result of that impact, the uninsured vehicle was propelled into Plaintiff’s stopped vehicle. Plaintiff severe back injuries, including a disc herniation effacing the anterior thecal sac impinging upon the nerve roots within the spinal canal. The injuries required a very complex surgery, specifically an anterior and posterior lumbar discectomy and fusion surgery with anterior and posterior instrumentation and fixation at two levels. Plaintiff was also unable to work for an extended period of time, resulting in a significant lost wage claim. The case settled for a total amount of $ 800,000.00.
